ABOUT US
Established in 2012, we are designer-makers of exquisite decorations, gifts and souvenirs with an emphasis on design and quality. Based in the heart of the beautiful Surrey hills, we produce contemporary collections for Christmas, special occasions, seasonal holidays as well as heritage collections throughout the UK. As a family-run British business, we have full creative control from product concept through to production and by having this end-to-end process, we ensure swift and efficient product developments. As we’ve continued to grow and expand, we’ve built strong relationships with our trade clientele, including independent boutiques through to national retailers in the UK and worldwide.
Today, Artcuts are still very much a close-knit family business and continue to retain this structure today.
OUR PROCESS
In 2012, we initially wanted to create blank wooden products to showcase the impressive wood grain and smooth, light finish. However, we soon became inspired by the possibilities of wood and laser-technology and started to develop different ways to create original and innovative designs with unique finishes. Driven to incorporate rich colours and exquisite patterns into our designs, we began applying Japanese Chiyogami papers to our wood. After the success of this process, we continued to explore what we could create through applying paint, metallic fabric finishes, cotton fabrics and veneers and discovered we could etch intricate detailing by using different laser machine processes. We constantly push design and technology to produce unique collections of exceptional quality.
MATERIALS
At Artcuts, we source only the finest raw materials and complementary finishes for our decorations and gifts. By using Scandinavian Birch wood, we provide decorations that fully follow sustainable processes and where we use composite wood, we use medite premium quality – both of which are FSC approved. Our range of paper and fabric finishes perfectly complement our materials and designs. We continue to use Japanese Chiyogami papers for their handmade quality and unique colours and patterns along with tartan checks, metallic papers and Liberty London fabrics. For our Scottish collections, we have a range of traditional tartan check fabrics to capture the essence of Scottish tradition and heritage in our designs. The woven check detail and iconic colour combinations provide further detail and depth to our Scottish style Christmas decorations. The rich colours of our luxurious metallic papers brings our Christmas decorations and sentiment baubles to life, adding that perfect touch of festivity that our customers love. We also apply the iconic Liberty of London fabrics to our wooden decorations and gifts. Selected from the Tana Lawn range, these luxury British fabrics are beautifully rich in colour and pattern.
